About Nubian Health
Nubian Health is a family run business to encourage a change and transformation to a healthier lifestyle. We make natural healing skin care products using essential oils, shea butter and Afrikan black soap. We also offer alternative healthy raw/cooked vegan desserts.
The business idea came from Shakina Chinedu who is a practicing vegan and has been since 2006. Veganism was chosen as a lifestyle to manage an asthmatic condition and the menopause without pharmaceutical drugs which can cause harmful side effects. The more I found that my health was improving I started to research other non pharmaceutical alternatives including toothpaste, deodorant and other skin care products. I was making products for my family and close friends but more and more others started requesting natural products from me and hence I decided to start Nubian Health.
The raw materials are sourced mainly from The Gambia in West Afrika and these are purchased from local traders on a Fair Trade basis. We are proud to support the local economy of The Gambia and its people.

Why Organic Oils?
We believe in working with nature to produce natural products that heal as well as help skin look and feel great. Nature has provided everything that we need to heal our bodies without relying on harsh man-made chemicals that damage the skin and can affect other organs within the body. Essential oils derive straight from trees and plants and contain powerful properties to counteract many health challenges. Did you know that Frankincense oil is the king of essential oils and can attack cancer cells without the need for harmful chemotherapy?
Essential oils have two main uses in our products, first, they provide natural healing and second, act as natural preservative.
As well as pure essential oils all products contain carrier oils that blend and compliment the essential oils to provide anti-aging, moisture and nurishment to the skin.
